A decision to follow a vegetarian diet as a teenager originally sparked my interest in nutrition. Pursuing a healthy balance in my own diet, I soon realized I wanted to help others do the same.

In the current climate of our changing healthcare landscape, it is more important than ever to come together with a united voice to speak on the importance of Registered Dietitians and Diet Technicians and our role in promoting optimal health.
Beginning November 21st, WAMDA will again be participating in the "Festival of Trees" - a fund raiser to benefit the Springfield Boys & Girls Club. Our tree will be decorated with a Cooking & Baking theme, with a chef's hat on top. We are looking for donations of gifts, gift cards, ornaments and cooking utensils that we may put on or under the tree.
My interest in the Nutrition field stemmed from experiences with my family growing up. My aunt is an RD, and she was always a happy, healthy role model, who enjoyed food, but didn't obsess about her weight. She inspired me to look into Nutrition as an undergrad and I really enjoyed the science and loved the healthy environment.
