After much consideration and discussion among the board of directors, WAMDA has decided to change our 29th Annual 5K Walk/Run to a fully virtual event. Regardless, we still hope to match, if not beat last year's funds raised for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.
The MAND Public Policy Panel has been very active in promoting legislation on the state and national levels that supports optimal nutrition and wellness for all citizens. Read on to see how two of our members are lending their voices!
WAMDA decorated and donated a "Spice up you Diet (instead of salt)" tree at the Festival of Trees, which ran from November 26- December 12 at the Mass Mutual Center in Springfield. Proceeds benefit the Springfield Boys and GIrls Club.

Although we were not able to celebrate them in person this year, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the two outstanding dietitians who are the recipients of this year's Registered Dietitian Awards: Katie Defoe and Allison Mitchell.
"I have always been interested in nutrition and fitness as a hobby, until about 6 years ago when I realized I could make it a career. I immediately went back to school to pursue a nutrition degree."
"Now more than ever I encourage all members to get and stay involved with our many programs and activities. We have gone virtual, along with the rest of the world, to continue to try to provide our members with the programs of interest they have come to enjoy. We will continue to participate in community activities as much as we are able."
