About the Speaker
Olivia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services and Rehabilitation with a concentration in Communication Disorders from Assumption College and a Masters of Arts in Speech Language Pathology from University of Massachusetts. Her prior experiences include working within early intervention, at a middle school, with a Parkinson’s therapy group, and within inpatient facilities.
Colleen earned her Bachelor of Arts/Sciences in Speech and Hearing Science from Ohio State University and Masters of Arts in Communicative Science and Disorders from Michigan State University. She has experience working within elementary schools, at pediatric outpatient offices, a TBI rehab clinic, and working with adults in outpatient and inpatient facilities.
Program Objectives
- Understand the role of the Speech Therapist
- Know the signs/ symptoms of dysphagia that a Speech Therapist evaluates
- Understand the treatment and rehabilitation methods implemented by the Speech Therapist
- Understand how dysphagia relates to nutrition
