Medical Nutrition Therapy During Active Cancer Treatment

Presented by:

Melina Conrad, MS, RDN, LDN

Date & time:
Thursday, January 19, 2023 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm
Location:

Virtual (Zoom)

About the Speaker:

Melina Conrad has been a practicing registered dietitian for over three years. Nutrition for the oncology patient has always been an interest of hers - stemming from seeing her mom go through her cancer treatments. She began her career at Baystate Medical Center, eventually overseeing both the geriatric and oncology units. Gaining confidence and realizing she wanted to have an increased impact on oncology patients actively going through their treatments, Melina accepted an outpatient oncology position in July 2022 at the West Haven Veteran Affairs Hospital. Melina looks forward to presenting evidence-based oncology nutrition guidelines, as well as nutrition-related side effects and medications used to treat those side effects, to new RD’s and RD’s who aren’t as experienced working with cancer patients undergoing active cancer treatment.
