The following are application guidelines for scholarship consideration:

1. Academics: Must be a (1) an undergraduate senior (or senior standing) or graduate student from an ACEND-accredited college or university majoring in dietetics or human nutrition with designated interest in becoming a Registered Dietitian, or (2) a dietetic intern in an ACEND- accredited dietetic internship program.

2. Must be a U.S. citizen and a permanent (hometown) or current resident (college/university) of western Massachusetts (i.e., Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, or Hampshire Counties).

3. Personal Statement & Most Significant Achievement: In the online application, you are asked to describe your interests in the field of nutrition and dietetics, and your short and long-term career goals. You are also asked to describe your most significant accomplishment (academic or personal).

4. Resumé: Email your current resumé detailing your work and/or volunteer experience, academic and professional activities, and memberships, awards, scholarships. Resume should be sent to: wamdascholarship@gmail.com. 

5. Recommendations: Request two letters of recommendation (preferably one faculty member and one employer or field work supervisor). Individuals providing the recommendations should complete the Recommendation Form above. 

6. Transcripts: Request that an official e-transcript be sent from the academic institution where you obtained your DPD verification statement, or where you completed most of your nutrition-related coursework. Transcripts should be sent to: wamdascholarship@gmail.com.

7. AND Membership: Preference given to current Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics members but not required for application submission. If a member, include membership ID# on resumé.

 

Applications, including receipt of e-transcript, resume and two letters of recommendation, must be received by April 1, 2026. Late or incomplete applications may not be considered.

 

Scholarship notification will be completed on or before April 30, 2026.
