This year nearly 200 of the 262 registered walkers and runners braved the ominous snowy forecast to participate in the 26th Annual Western Area Massachusetts Dietetic Association Fitness 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair to benefit The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts on March 2, 2019 at Look Park in Northampton.
The WAMDA Fitness 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair was proud to once again partner with The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, whose main focus is to provide individuals facing hunger with the food they need to survive and also work to lead communities toward long-term solutions to the problem of hunger in our region. Serving the four counties of Western Massachusetts, The Food Bank is the leading provider of emergency food that reaches individuals and families with lower incomes. They are committed to working with our community to reduce hunger, increase food security, and to make nutritious food affordable and accessible for all residents in our region.
Congratulations to all the walkers and runners and thank you for your support! We would also like to extend our sincerest thanks and gratitude to the many sponsors, community partners, and volunteers whose time, monetary contributions, and donations make this event a possibility.
Very special thanks to all of our generous 2019 sponsors!
