Undergraduate: Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, UMass Amherst

Dietetic Internship: Meredith College, Raleigh, NC

A decision to follow a vegetarian diet as a teenager originally sparked my interest in nutrition. Pursuing a healthy balance in my own diet, I soon realized I wanted to help others do the same.

After studying nutrition at UMass, I worked at WIC in Springfield for two years, then moved to North Carolina for my internship. Enjoying the warm weather, I decided to remain in Raleigh, working at a county health department, then an outpatient oncology center. Afterward I took a position as a clinical nutrition manager in the Duke Health System.

Returning to Massachusetts in 2007 to be closer to my family, I took a position at Baystate Medical Center. I currently work as a neonatal/pediatric dietitian with a great team of dietitians and diet technicians.

This is my fourth year as co-chair of the WAMDA 5K. I enjoy participating in this annual event and raising money for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts.

When not at work, I spend time with my nieces and nephew. I also practice yoga, and like to hike, bike, walk, and dance.
