This year's Virginia A. Beal Lecture speakers include Donald (Diego) Rose, a Professor and Head of the Nutrition Section in the Department of Global Community Health at Tulane University, Paula Serafino-Cross, a clinical dietitian at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, and John M. Gerber, a Professor of Sustainable Food and Farming in the UMass Stockbridge School of Agriculture. The title of the Lecture is: From Neighborhood to Nation: Changing Policies to Improve Nutrition and Food Security.
Objectives
- Identify local and national policies to promote nutrition and food security.
- Describe how communities can promote positive behavior changes in a population's decision-making for nutrition and health.
- Examine the role of dietitians/nutritionists in these public policy initiatives.
This program is eligible for 2 CPE credits, Level 2.
