Scholarship Committee Announcement – 2024 Scholarship

The following are application guidelines for scholarship consideration:

  1. Academics: must be a (1) an undergraduate senior (or senior standing) or graduate student from an ACEND-accredited college or university majoring in dietetics or human nutrition with designated interest in becoming a Registered Dietitian, or (2) a dietetic intern in an ACEND- accredited dietetic internship program.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen and a permanent (hometown) or current resident (college/university) of western Massachusetts (i.e., Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden, or Hampshire Counties).
  3. Personal Statement & Most Significant Achievement: in the online application, you are asked to describe your interests in the field of nutrition and dietetics, and your short and long-term career goals. You are also asked to describe your most significant accomplishment (academic or personal).
  4. Resumé: upload your current resumé detailing your work and/or volunteer experience, academic and professional activities, and memberships, awards, scholarships.
  5. Recommendations: request two letters of recommendation (preferably one faculty member and one employer or field work supervisor). Letters should address your academic ability and/or work ethic and provide evidence in support of your RD/RDN aspirations/goals. In the online application, you will provide the name, title, address, and phone number for both recommendations. Letters must be emailed directly from the recommending party and submitted to: [email protected]. Please have your recommender include your name in subject line.
  6. Transcripts: request that an official e-transcript be sent from the academic institution where you obtained your DPD verification statement, or where you completed most of your nutrition-related coursework. Transcripts should be sent to: [email protected].
  7. AND Membership: preference given to current Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics members but not required for application submission. If a member, include membership ID# on resumé.
  8. Applications, including receipt of e-transcript and two letters of recommendation, must be received by Monday, April 1, 2024. Late or incomplete applications may not be considered.

Scholarship notification will be completed on or before April 30, 2024..
