This year's Virginia A. Beal Lecture speakers include Donald (Diego) Rose, a Professor and Head of the Nutrition Section in the Department of Global Community Health at Tulane University, Paula Serafino-Cross, a clinical dietitian at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, and John M. Gerber, a Professor of Sustainable Food and Farming in the UMass Stockbridge School of Agriculture. The title of the Lecture is: From Neighborhood to Nation: Changing Policies to Improve Nutrition and Food Security.

Objectives

  1. Identify local and national policies to promote nutrition and food security.
  2. Describe how communities can promote positive behavior changes in a population's decision-making for nutrition and health.
  3. Examine the role of dietitians/nutritionists in these public policy initiatives.

This program is eligible for 2 CPE credits, Level 2.
