Dianne Sutherland, RD, WAMDA member, is recognized for her efforts in a healthy focus at the University of Massachusetts in which earned the award for Best Menu Trendsetter. See attached article for more information on Dianne's accomplishment.

Resources on Reimbursement 

The Massachusetts Dietetic Association now has some excellent information on reimbursement available on it's website in the Legislation and Public Policy Section. (Note this is not in the member's only section and can be accessed by anyone.)

ANNOUNCEMENT:           2010 Western Area Massachusetts Dietetic Association Award Nominations will be announced at this year's Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 13th!!

 

WAMDA Special Recognition Award- WAMDA member-Mary Jane Rogalski, MBA, RD, LDN  Manager, Clinical Nutrition, Baystate Health

 

The WAMDA Special Recognition Award may be presented annually to one WAMDA member in recognition of outstanding service to the association and to the profession of dietetics. The recipient will be presented with an engraved plaque and will be honored at the WAMDA Annual Membership dinner meeting.

 

Criteria for selection:

 

The recipient

  • has been a member of WAMDA for at least 2 years.
  • has given outstanding service to the association through active participation in the ADA, State and/or district dietetic association or other related professional organizations.
  • has demonstrated the highest standard of professional practice in dietetics.
  • is a role model for colleagues and others.
  • is not a previous recipient of the special Recognition Awards.
  • is not a member of the WAMDA Nominating and Awards Committee.

 

WAMDA Special Recognition Award- Non-member- Dr. James Kirchhoffer  Change of Heart Program, Baystate Health

 

The WAMDA special Recognition Award for a non-member may be presented annually to one individual in recognition of outstanding service to the nutrition profession. The recipient will be presented with an engraved plaque and will be honored at the WAMDA Annual Membership dinner meeting.

 

Criteria for selection:

 

The recipient

  • has made distinguished contributions to dietetics through scientific knowledge, technical skills, or the promotion of WAMDA’s mission. 
  • has demonstrated goodwill through notable local, state, or national service in the advancement of the profession of dietetics.
  • recognizes and promotes dietetic professionals as contributors to the optimal health and nutritional status of the population.

 


2008-2009 WAMDA Non-Member Award Recipient was Dick Callahan.
